Electrical Solar Technician

Lumina is looking for an Electrical Solar Technician to join our Energy Services Maintenance Team in Halethorpe, Maryland.

The Electrical Solar Technician will play a crucial role in our solar maintenance operations, focusing on electrical projects, troubleshooting, and ensuring the efficient functioning of solar systems. This individual will be instrumental in maintaining the efficiency and longevity of our clients’ solar systems.

In This Role, You’ll Get To

• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical maintenance issues on pre-existing installations for residential customers
• Install electrical service equipment, wiring, and devices associated with solar PV systems
• Perform electrical inspections and maintenance tasks with precision and expertise
• Ensure all electrical systems meet company standards, the National Electrical Code (NEC), and other relevant local codes
• Coordinate and communicate with electrical inspectors on projects
• Complete the installation of products associated with residential PV systems, such as critter guards and EV chargers
• Perform removals and re-installations of pre-existing installations
• Support job safety and crew operations, including staging materials, providing site work support, assisting with site preparation, and cleanup
• Provide regular updates on job status, complete necessary paperwork, and take photos as required
• Offer customer support for troubleshooting system issues and maintain professional correspondence with customers
• Adhere to all safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and your team

On Your First Day, We’ll Expect You To Have

• Over 2 years of experience in Residential Solar with strong electrical experience
• Electrical certification is a plus but not required
• Proficiency in safely handling power and hand tools, as well as materials such as ladders, inverters, solar panels, panel boards, batteries, and wiring
• Extensive knowledge of electrical systems, both AC and DC, including troubleshooting, wiring, and assembly
• Familiarity with the National Electrical Code (NEC)
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical issues
• Capability to climb ladders, work on sloped roofs in all weather conditions, and stand for extended periods
• Experience and comfort working in attics and confined spaces
• Ability to lift 75 pounds repeatedly
• Proficiency in using smartphones and tablets for communication, accessing job-related apps and software, documenting work progress, and staying connected with team members and supervisors as required
• Proven track record of reliable attendance
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Dedication to maintaining the highest safety standards on every job
• A valid driver’s license is required for all positions at Lumina
