Role Purpose Statement

As the Director of Environmental Management, you will spearhead the strategic direction and execution of environmental initiatives across the Americas, ensuring a unified and robust environmental framework within the LSG Group. Your leadership will be critical in driving the standardization of processes, developing and refining operational practices, and establishing industry-leading benchmarks that align with our commitment to environmental stewardship.

In this role, you will be at the forefront of promoting and advancing the sustainability strategy, focusing on key environmental projects that significantly impact our operations. You will lead efforts to integrate environmental considerations into all aspects of supplier management, ensuring that our partners uphold the highest standards of sustainability.

Your responsibilities extend to developing and maintaining procedural and functional processes across all relevant business areas, with a sharp focus on assessing, measuring, and controlling environmental performance. You will be tasked with ensuring that our operations achieve the lowest possible environmental impact while maintaining compliance with sustainable practices. Your leadership will be instrumental in embedding a culture of environmental responsibility throughout the organization, driving continuous improvement in our sustainability journey.

Main Accountabilities

  • Initiation and monitoring of the annual data collection, timely provision of evaluated consumption data for the annual sustainability report.
  • Responsible for the environmental management system to monitor utility consumption, fuel, and waste, utilizing the information to develop programs and projects that support efficient resource consumption in the region.
  • Responsible for achieving environmental targets related to the decarbonization strategy and Zero to Landfill project.
  • Provide continuous support to units in assessing improvement areas to reduce environmental impact and achieve the environmental targets.
  • Monitor of establishment and updating of Environmental KPIs.
  • Ensuring the timely provision of environmental data for the annual sustainability report of the LSG Group, annual reports from shareholders and their CO2 audits, customer tenders and responsible authorities.
  • Ensuring the strategic integration of environmental management into the Sustainability management of LSG Skychefs through close cooperation with other interdisciplinary team related to sustainability topics.
  • Support of Communications of the LSG Group in environmental management relevant information on initiatives and strategic direction. Communication with shareholders on environmental issues and expectations.
  • Manage all internal, customer and shareholder audits and timely fulfillment of tender-related environmental requirements.
  • Exchange best practices, customer issues and opportunities for improvement within the expert community.
  • Supporting maintenance and infrastructure departments with environment-related content for their projects.
  • Responsible for the yearly Sustainability / Environmental assessment under different approaches (EcoVadis, CDP, Energy Audit).
  • Responsible for the Klimato tool to perform the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and Carbon Footprint calculation of food products.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Educational Background: A Masters degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a closely related field is strongly preferred.
  • Environmental Expertise: In-depth knowledge of environmental management systems, including ISO Standards and relevant environmental legislation, is highly advantageous.
  • Business Acumen: Proficiency in calculating and analyzing business cases to support environmental initiatives is desirable.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong IT database skills, coupled with advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio) are required to effectively manage and present data.
  • Language Skills: Fluency in English is mandatory, both in verbal and written communication.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Abilities: Exceptional analytical thinking and problem-solving skills are essential for identifying and addressing environmental challenges.
  • Documentation and Presentation Skills: Excellent skills in documentation and presentation are required to communicate complex information clearly and effectively.
  • Project Management: Proven experience in project management, with the ability to lead and coordinate cross-functional teams and projects to successful completion.
  • Travel: Must be willing to travel up to 50%


SALARY
: The starting base pay for this position ranges from $100,136-$140,000 (lowest geographic market). Base pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This role is eligible to participate in a full range of medical and wellness benefits on day one of employment.
