The Opportunity

LG Electronics has established its strong ground in US consumer electronics markets based on continuous innovations and product quality appreciated by US consumers. With an endeavoring effort to better serve customers at home with efficiency and convenience enabled by its AI/IoT innovations, the company is developing platform services via its connected devices and ThinQ platform. That is why we are currently seeking the newest innovator to join our team as a Sr Electrical Integration Engineer, located in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey. This is an on-site position.

Roles and Responsibilities expected from a Senior Electrical Integration Engineer

  • Individual will be responsible for site development and commissioning.
  • Established ability to troubleshoot and correct issues relating to site commissioning.
  • This individual will serve as technical subject matter expert and integrate with a team of Development Managers.
  • Develop standard documents and provide design guidance for implementation of EVC and ESS infrastructure.
  • Review construction documents developed by architecture and engineering vendors.
  • Interface and develop relationships with equipment manufacturers, organize the procurement process of electrical equipment such as switchboards, transformers, EV chargers, Energy Storage Systems (ESS) and other products as required.
  • Work with utility companies and providing technical guidance for use in service applications and load calculations.
  • Identify and communicate risks related to design, implementation, and operation of the EV charger systems.
  • Work with team members to develop and execution, mitigation, and contingency plans.
  • Stay current with latest technologies and regulatory standards in relation to utility Demand Response, DER integration and EV Charging.
  • Provide technical expertise and support for vendor led commissioning of charging equipment.
  • Provide technical support to the operations group for charging equipment related matters.

Required

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Equivalent.
  • Minimum of 6 years’ experience in complex electrical infrastructure development and minimum of 3 years’ experience in developing EV. charging infrastructure which includes EVC, ESS and other equipment.
  • Experience in the design and construction of building systems or similar projects is acceptable for consideration.
  • Ability to convey technical concepts and complex topics appropriately tailored to the audience type.
  • Strong engagement with product standard bodies such as SAE, UL, IEC, and NEC.
  • Expert level understanding of the National Electrical Code and its implementation.
  • Demonstrable communication skills both internally and externally and complex problem-solving skills.

Preferred

  • NYC GC (General Contractor) licensee preferable.
