Job Summary (Basic Functions)
: LG Chem Advance Materials, Inc. (LGCTA) is actively searching for a Director of Human Resources to join our team in Clarksville, TN. Director of HR is a leadership role responsible for leading the HR functions for the facility and report to both HR America regional director in Atlanta and manufacturing leader vice president in the factory.

HR Director develops and implements HR policies and programs to enhance employee engagement and performances. This position is a crucial role for shaping organization culture and settlement of a brand-new factory.

The director of HR will manage all HR activities of the site, Qualified candidates will have experience working in a large, manufacturing plant and will leading an HR department. This position is based full time in Clarksville, TN and is not a remote role.


What Youll Be Doing


Essential Functions (include but are not limited to):

  • Ensure HR department compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Develop and implement HR policies, practices, activities and procedures.
  • Implements and builds human resources strategies by establishing department accountabilities, including talent acquisition, staffing, employee relations, and compensation.
  • Provide strategic direction to the HR team including recruiting, training and development, employee relations, and payroll and align with the overall strategy of Global HR headquarters of Americas.
  • Collaborate and co-work with BSG HR leader to build and provide effective labor relations strategies customized for the sites needs
  • Oversee workforce plan based on HQ direction and local staffing needs
  • Deployment of HQ initiatives to site in collaboration with BSG HR
  • Develops human resources operations financial strategies by estimating, forecasting, and anticipating requirements.
  • Collaborate and communicate with Global HR management, Executives and leadership.
  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues, including investigations, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution.
  • Implement the compensation practices which ensures talents acquisition, retention, competitive pay level, and internal equity by updating pay ranges and pay mixes with HR headquarters of Americas.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture through effective communication and employee support programs.
  • Evaluate leadership performance and appraisal process.

Key Performance Goals:

  • Establish and implement plant HR policies and procedures for Manufacturing start up.
  • Provide strategic direction on staffing organization units.
  • Enhance the efficiency of production technology transfer from the mother factory by providing training programs and frameworks.


Qualifications, Skills and Experience: What Were Looking For


Competencies/Desired Skills:

  • Personnel and Human Resources Knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, compensation and benefits, labor relations and negotiation, and personnel information systems.
  • Administration and Management Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
  • Law Knowledge of US employment, labor laws and government regulations that impact the HR function.
  • Education and Training Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement
  • Labor relations Deep knowledge of labor relations and strategy.


Education: Bachelors degree in human resources or another field, such as business, communications, or psychology from an accredited university or program required. Advance degree in relevant area of HR/law or industrial relations and/or SPHR Certification is highly preferred.


Requirements:

  • 8-10+ years of experience as an HRBP or Human Resources Manager in manufacturing or plant environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience
  • 5+ years’ experience leading the Human Resources function for a manufacturing facility highly preferred
  • Strong organizational, critical thinking and communications skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS and talent management systems.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software (SuccessFactors), ADP.
  • Prior experience leading a team of HR professionals in various HR functional areas

  • Excellent communication skills: verbal, written and presentation
  • Proficiency in the use of PC and Microsoft Office suite (Microsoft Excel, Power Point, Word etc.)
