POSITION: Staff Accountant
Leeward Renewable Energy is a growth-oriented renewable energy company that owns and operates a portfolio of 21 wind farms across nine states, with 20 in operation and one under construction, totaling more than 2,000 MW of installed capacity. We are developing new wind, solar, and energy storage projects in energy markets across the U.S.
The staff accountant is responsible for maintaining an accurate general ledger, preparing financial statements, responding to inquiries, and resolving issues for assigned operational projects.

Responsible for preparing routine journal entries, reconcile balance sheet accounts including bank reconciliations, revenue invoicing, fixed assets, accounts payable, data entry in financial models, assist in creation of financial statements and variance analyses.

Maintains communication with Asset Managers to provide insight on the projects financial results.

Reviews, approves and codes all payables for assigned projects.

Performs weekly cash monitoring to ensure cash balances are up to date and invoices are paid in a timely manner.

Identify and assist in the implementation of needed improvements in processes affecting the Asset Accounting Team

Two+ years of related work experience and/or senior level courses at an accredited university

Technical and analytical accounting background and familiarity or experience with complex accounting issues, consolidations, US and foreign GAAP issues, foreign currency translation, multiple corporate structures, equity and investment accounting.

Commitment, ability, and prior experience in meeting deadlines for monthly and quarterly reporting, and special projects; preparing thorough and complete analyses and reconciliations with appropriate documentation and follow-up.

Organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage a demanding workload involving multiple tasks, responsibilities and deadlines with professional follow-through and minimal supervision.

Self-starter with flexibility, desire to learn, willing to ask questions and take ownership of projects.
