As a Mechanical Systems Manager, you will monitor and manage the energy efficiency of District facilities while implementing conservation measures, monitoring energy consumption, assess business decisions for sustainability, perform audits to evaluate energy use, costs or efficiency initiatives, monitor water consumption, plan and renew energy initiatives for new construction, renovations, and retrofits that maximize energy conservation.

WHAT YOU’LL BE WORKING ON:

  • Seeking opportunities for increasing energy efficiency, research alternative/renewable energy technologies, and determine their feasibility and cost-effectiveness.
  • Planning, implementing, operating and monitoring of the District Energy Management Programs by setting goals and strategies to save energy.
  • Coordinate Districts Energy Awareness Program including training of District personnel.
  • Supervise district maintenance staff.
  • Research alternative/renewable energy technologies and determine feasibility and cost-effectiveness.
  • Forecast future energy costs; prepare reports on energy consumption and oversees all utility bills.
  • Conduct site visits and perform technical energy studies and audits of facilities to identify energy savings opportunities.
  • Analyze infrastructure of facilities including electrical, mechanical, HVAC, controls, water, wastewater, envelope, solid waste, irrigation and lighting systems; and recommends field improvement measures to equipment and components to minimize energy costs.
  • Assess operational characteristics of facilities; determines areas in which energy conservation measures are needed; and establishes optimization protocols for the operational schedule of the energy systems which includes curtailment and ensuring operations of the Districts generators.
  • Perform detailed control systems diagnostics for integrity of system operation; and troubleshoot malfunctions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  • Bachelors degree in Facilities Operation, Business Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • 4+ years of related experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a high focus on customer service.
  • Ability to work accurately, both independently and as a team member.
  • Ability to problem-solve with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of computer-based energy management control and monitoring systems and the skills and ability to program the systems and troubleshoot system malfunctions.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
  • Must possess a valid Drivers License with a good driving record.

SCHEDULE:

  • Hours for this role is 8 hours on-site, Monday – Friday

SALARY RANGE:

  • $90,000 – $100,000
