Position Overview:

KORE Power, Inc. is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to own all aspects of electrical design within KOREs existing products and new product development programs. This role is expected to have a large degree of autonomy and will be required to plan work and meet schedules, providing frequent and effective communication to stakeholders. Working within a small team and a structured product development process, cross-functional collaboration will be critically important (and actively encouraged).

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design, maintain, implement, and improve electrical design of products, and/or systems for industrial, utility, and commercial markets.
  • Research and select components to meet design requirements
  • Review and collaborate to finalize market requirements for new products
  • Establish product requirements to meet market requirements
  • Establish design verification and validation plans.
  • Prepare product documentation, application notes and design guides to provide customers with an industry leading experience when utilizing Kore Power products.
  • Support the transition of new products to production including the development of basic assembly & test procedures.
  • Provide SME advice to QA to support effective and efficient QC processes
  • Estimation of future design schedules and resource requirements
  • Regular reporting of design progress
  • Perform a wide range of engineering tasks utilizing state-of-the-art design software and techniques.
  • Ensure compliance of products with applicable industry standards, including market and region-specific standards.
  • Create engineering design reports
  • Conduct engineering design reviews
  • Participate in customer feedback and market reviews to conceptualize and evaluate new market/product opportunities

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Must be a team player and self-starter
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Bachelors Engineering degree
  • Current PE licence highly preferred
  • Experience with Inverters and power conversion systems a plus
  • Experience with high voltage and high current DC systems (>1000V and >1000A)
  • DC fault analysis and protection design
  • Minimum of 5 to 10 years in relevant industries, leading engineering projects
  • Involvement in product compliance/certification efforts
  • Design for (high) reliability and design reliability assessment methods
  • Experience working in a structured product development process.
  • Trade-off analysis, particularly as applies to hardware/software

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Systems engineering experience
  • Experience in battery management product design
  • Functional safety
  • Previous experience in a technical leadership or team management role.
  • Engineering simulation (e.g. Matlab, Spice, FEA)
  • Experience designing electrical systems for high vibration environments.
  • System analysis tools such as Fault Tree, FMEA, FMEDA, RISK ASSESMENTS and LOPA
  • Arc-flash analysis and relevant codes & standards
  • Proficiency in Mandarin a plus
