BESS Engineer

**Job Title: BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems) Engineer**

**Location:** San Clemente, CA (Preferred in San Diego but can be remote)

Our client is a leader in renewable energy solutions and has recently won a major contract to deliver a cutting-edge Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project for a commercial developer. **Position Overview:**

We are seeking an experienced BESS Engineer to lead and oversee the detailed design of the BESS yard. This role requires in-depth knowledge of the electrical side of BESS systems, including all components, layouts, and system design. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in designing BESS systems and the ability to transition into a future Business Development role as the company continues to grow.

You will work closely with civil engineers responsible for grading, substation electrical engineers for connectivity, and other experts to ensure the successful delivery of the project. You will report directly to Dan, and while preference is for someone based in San Diego, this role offers the flexibility to work remotely.

**Key Responsibilities:**

– Lead the design and layout of the BESS yard, ensuring all electrical components and systems are properly integrated.

– Oversee the design process, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.

– Collaborate with civil and substation electrical teams to ensure seamless project execution.

– Provide technical oversight and ensure timely project delivery.

– Act as the primary point of contact for the project’s electrical design elements.

– Support future business development efforts as the company pursues new bids and opportunities.

**Qualifications:**

-PE strongly preferred

– Strong background in electrical engineering, with specific experience in BESS design and systems.

– Hands-on experience in designing and implementing electrical layouts for BESS projects.

– Understanding of all BESS components, including batteries, inverters, transformers, and protection systems.

– Experience working on commercial or utility-scale energy storage projects is preferred.

– Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

– Ability to work independently and oversee complex design projects.

– Interest in transitioning into a Business Development role as the company grows.
