Instrumentation & Controls Engineer
KBR Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) provides holistic and value-added solutions across the entire asset life cycle. These include world-class licensed process technologies, differentiated advisory services, deep technical domain expertise, energy transition solutions, high-end design capabilities, and smart solutions to optimize planned and operating assets.
Functional job responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
providing technical specialist leadership to multiple projects.
Influencing instrumentation specifications, control system specification, and analyzer specifications.
Providing checking and review services for projects.
Project Instrumentation team leadership of teams with from 1-5+ members.
Mentoring earlier career department members.
Provide leadership in safety reviews and safety loop designs.
Interdisciplinary coordination and interoffice coordination leadership.
Department and work team activities as needed to ensure success of our projects and office.
Post degree certifications (PE, Safety engineer, etc) a plus
These roles are expected to function in a hybrid work environment and must have the ability to travel to client sites to attend walk-downs, kick-off meetings and design reviews.
RESPONSIBILITES RESPONSIBLE ENGINEER AND BIOFUELS TECHNICAL SPECIALIST
Develop and manage the preparation, review and checking of instrument specification packages in accordance with Client requirements and industry best practices.
Support work group leads on a wide range of project tasks.
Participate in the entire procurement life cycle while working closely with all disciplines.
Participate in special assignments tailored to meet candidates area of technical focus.
Participate in department training programs, office wide employee resource groups (ERGs), attend technical seminars and help arrange technical training for the department when requested.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITES TECHNICAL SPECIALIST ROLE (depending upon candidate)
Depending upon the candidate a career trajectory may also be tailored to grow into a subject matter expert for the Wilmington office.
REQUIREMENTS
Preferred Bachelors in Chemical, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or another related field.
15 years of experience in the EPC industry or chemical / biofuels operating companies. Will consider experience with chemical site team or project engineering backgrounds in related industries. Operations / Maintenance and Reliability experience is a plus.
Working knowledge of other engineering disciplines while providing proactive leadership on all interdisciplinary design coordination efforts.
Ability to travel as needed to survey client sites.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with supervisory experience.
