Control Systems Engineer

KBR Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) provides holistic and value-added solutions across the entire asset life cycle. KBR is looking for a Control Systems Engineer with a US PE interested in a full-time career forming and leading design teams on project work. You will independently apply advanced engineering techniques, makes decisions on engineering problems and methods, and represents the organization in conferences to resolve important questions or to negotiate with key engineers and ofcials of other organizations. Provide technical guidance to designers and less experienced engineers and is consulted extensively by associates and others with a high degree of reliance placed on scientic interpretations and advice.

Under project supervision, you will lead a team of technical professionals and perform assignments requiring knowledge and application of basic control systems engineering principles. You will use judgment in making selections and adaptation of engineering alternatives and perform specific and well-defined assignments.

Functional job responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Provide technical leadership to multiple projects.

  • Lead development of instrumentation specifications, control system specification, and analyzer specifications.

  • Provide checking and review services for projects.

  • Instrumentation team leadership of teams with 1-5+ members.

  • Provide Instrumentation leadership in safety reviews and safety loop designs.

  • Interdisciplinary coordination and interoffice coordination leadership.

  • Department and work team activities as needed to ensure success of our projects and office.

  • Post degree certifications (PE, Safety engineer, etc) a plus.

  • Complete assigned tasks with consideration of the budgeted work hours and schedule commitments.

  • Sealing CSE Project documents as needed in states where your license is current.

Additional Candidates expected duties are:

  • Seek Comity in states where project work is performed.

  • Develop and manage the preparation, review and checking of mechanical specification packages in accordance with Client requirements and industry best practices.

  • Support work group leads on a wide range of project tasks.

  • Participate in the entire procurement life cycle while working closely with all disciplines.

  • Participate in special assignments tailored to meet candidates area of technical focus.

  • Participate in department training programs, office wide employee resource groups (ERGs), attend technical seminars and help arrange technical training for the department when requested

Required Education, Experience, & Skills:

  • Bachelors in Chemical Engineering or Electrical Engineering

  • A current PE in a US state or territory.

  • Chemical Plant instrumentation design experience desired.

  • DuPont and Chemours experience desired
