Due to growth-driven expansion of its Commodities business, Karbone is hiring for a Head of Sales & Trading.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement sales trading strategies alongside desk heads to optimize profitability while identifying opportunities and risks.
- Hire, lead, and train a team of junior and mid-level Mid-Marketers and Sales Traders for Power, Capacity, REC and Renewable Fuel commodity desks
- Serve as a key company representative in the US and Canada, attending industry events, conducting client meetings, and leading roadshows to expand Karbone’s business and visibility.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, stakeholders, and counterparties while developing and executing client acquisition and retention strategies.
- Oversee trade execution and work with existing credit, risk and management team to streamline approval processes, VaR exposure, and counterparty enablement.
- Maintain knowledge of market developments, regulation/legislation and industry trends.
- Serve as power and environmental product subject matter expert for the commodity desks.
Qualifications:
- ~10-15+ years’ experience within power marketing, origination, or trading
- Previous experience transacting successfully in power and environmental products
- Proven track record of building and growing teams
- Industry experience in wholesale power, RECs, and/or capacity markets required
- Market experience in MISO, CAISO, SPP, WECC, and/or PJM highly preferred
- Exceptional leadership skills and entrepreneurial mindset
The salary for this position is estimated to be between $250K-$300K+. Total compensation includes bonus, comprehensive benefits, and retirement plan with company match.
