JOB SUMMARY
This role is responsible for championing and delivering BKV’s ESG and air quality compliance performance and carbon management in alignment with strategic business objectives. This role will manage high amounts of data and information to meet business objectives and will require an individual that provides meticulous attention to detail and systematic task execution.

This role is a seasoned professional who applies advanced job knowledge to achieve operational goals. Works independently with limited supervision. May manage projects and processes to improve efficiencies. May coach and review the work of junior employees. Problems faced are typically difficult and sometimes complex. Demonstrates integrity, accountability and transparency; upholds BKV standards, values and culture.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Typical job responsibilities of the SUSTAINABILITY SPECIALIST II include:

  • Work with sustainability leader to deliver on companywide ESG program goals.
  • Collaborate with environmental team to impact companywide practices and performance.
  • Maintain investor and compliance grade air quality and carbon data to include error-free reporting to EPA and ESG reporting standards.
  • Develop detailed quantification of GHG emissions, for Scope 1, 2, and 3. In accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Lead and work collaboratively in the development of a GHG model and planning tool.
  • Support and manage the delivery of innovative products and services.
  • Develop detailed reports and protocols for the management of Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions. Support and manage the delivery of innovative products and services.
  • Maintain a master emissions tracking and credit system, which tracks and validates BKVs journey to Net Zero.
  • Maintain real-time emissions dashboard and lead our emissions monitoring ecosystem development and implementation (Satellite, Fixed Wing, Continuous, LDAR) and emission calculations, while collaborating with IT and platform service providers.
  • Lead routine evaluations of various compliance programs and the development and updating of programs to collectively improve ESG performance.
  • Work closely with air quality compliance teams on Title V, GHG and other air permitting and compliance requirements and calculation methodologies in each asset.
  • Create communications, such as slide decks, to support strategic planning and corporate publications.
  • Stay abreast of changing local, state and federal legislative and regulatory issues which affect BKV and its affiliates.
  • Perform other duties as required.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Understanding of natural gas industry standards, market trends, emerging issues, and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong demonstrated knowledge of clean air act regulations, specifically those that affected GHG management and reporting.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of federal air quality programs related to oil and gas production and mandatory reporting for greenhouse gas emissions.
  • Understand industry corporate sustainability initiatives and protocols.
  • Demonstrated performance working with operations and environmental compliance teams to deliver collaborative solutions and strong results.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills in the measurement and quantification of GHG emissions. The ability to manage and develop detailed emissions calculations for Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions.

  • Knowledge of relevant standard and protocols such as GHG Protocol, OGMP 2.0, etc., are a plus.
  • Ability to generate and support generation of detailed reports and protocols.
  • Ability to run emissions quantification software (ProMax. etc.) is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and job-related applications. Uses insights from digital tools to improve performance.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelors degree required. Engineering or relevant degree preferred.
  • Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORKING CONDITIONS

  • This position is located in Denver, CO at BKV Headquarters. Remote work will be considered. Some travel up to 10% may be required.
  • Indoor working environment that requires the ability to perform repetitive motions and operate standard office equipment.
  • May occasionally be exposed to distracting noise while sharing office space with others.

SALARY RANGE

  • $74,000 to $122,000
