Position Title: Natural Gas Scheduler (Midwest/West)
Location: Houston, TX (USA) – Hybrid
Reports To: VP US Gas and Supply
Industry: Renewable Energy – Natural Gas
Responsibilities:
- Schedule and nominate gas on Utility companies where Just Energy operates in California, Illinois, and Indiana.
- Schedule and nominate gas on pipelines that Just Energy use to transport gas to these utility companies including, but not limited to PG&E, Trunkline, Gulf Run, ANR, NGPL, Panhandle Eastern, Trunkline, Vector, and Crossroads
- Schedule and nominate gas on natural gas storage accounts
- Confirm daily gas deliveries so as to avoid unplanned and unnecessary imbalances, overruns and penalties
- Enter pipeline transportation and storage contracts as well as daily and monthly nomination activity into deal capture system and make sure system entries match actual nominations.
- Monitor pool usage and balances through the LDC’s Electronic Bulletin Boards or direct communications with LDC Operations Personnel
- Assist in the development of the daily purchase and delivery schedules and communicate to the wholesale suppliers and LDC operations personnel
- Get company setup on new transportation pipelines when necessary
- Make sure wholesale supply is pathed to retail demand in system of record.
- Track and interpret pipeline, LDC and storage curtailments, maintenance, and other operational issues that affect assigned markets
- Assist in the identification and quantification of all volumetric imbalances
- Use Microsoft Excel to build models to make the scheduling and nomination process more efficient and accurate
- Communicate with external counterparties like Suppliers, Pipeline Companies, and Utilities to build and maintain strong business relationships.
- Guarantee integrity of company delivery performance obligations and maintain high standards of reliability
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a natural gas scheduling role
- Strong operational knowledge of pipeline, LDC operations and industry standard practices

Self-starter, results-oriented with proven previous success at prioritizing and managing multiple tasks of varying complexities in the context of operational impact and corporate goals, as well as meeting tight deadlines.
- Excellent quantitative, communications, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Proven logical and analytical problem-solving abilities. Comfort with numerical and financial analysis.
- Previous experience and technical knowledge of advanced MS Excel (knowledge of macros, and Visual Basic would be an asset)
