Juniper Experience and Operations (JXO) Sustainability is a key function in a differentiated operational organization that delivers value. The JXO Sustainability team is responsible for driving transformational change in the way we do business and driving Juniper towards meeting its Carbon Emission, Circularity & Social Responsibility goals.

In this role, you will partner with internal stakeholders as well as key suppliers and customers to define and execute an industry leading ESG strategy. Working with our IT, CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) and JXO operational teams, you will support and encourage Juniper and its value chain to prioritize sustainability performance desired by our key customers. Through your understanding of the industry and its end-to-end supply chains, you will identify Juniper’s emissions, materials and e-waste hotspots and appropriate carbon reduction solutions.

Position Responsibilities

Manage and mature our operational sustainability and risk-based ESG program, serving as a strategic partner to Juniper corporate sustainability and JXO teams. Key focus areas include Carbon Emissions, Circularity (use of recycled materials, 4R (reuse, repair, recycle, recover) and Advancement of Human Rights.

Develop subject-matter expertise on ESG issues (environment, climate impact and risk resilience), environmental sustainability priorities (energy, carbon, renewable energy, PUE, water, biodiversity, waste etc.), diversity priorities and governance priorities (cybersecurity, policy and process development, familiarity with regulatory frameworks)

Review supplier decarbonization roadmaps and keep the suppliers accountable to the milestones, alongside supporting them to achieve their Net Zero commitments.

Identify decarbonization and circularity best practices and socialize with the suppliers.

Engage top suppliers and influence them to embark on the decarbonization journey and enable them to reduce their emissions.

Help develop internal policies and procedures to manage a wide variety of used, end-of-life, customer returned and/or scrapped electronic equipment

Engage with top customers, review their ESG expectations and help develop a roadmap, working with internal teams, for Juniper to get there

Keep internal functions and stakeholders accountable to the milestones, alongside supporting them to achieve Juniper’s sustainability commitments.

Engage with internal and external stakeholders to develop and manage Juniper’s positions on carbon accounting and green finance frameworks

Collaborate with procurement business partners, category managers, and business stakeholders to engage targeted suppliers that significantly impact our Scope 3 emissions.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Passionate about advancing sustainability in everything we do
  • Knowledge of supplier operational practices, including energy use, emission footprint and ESG programs
  • Awareness of environmental, social and ethical concerns facing global supply chains
  • A self-starter who excels in working both independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams including Engineering, Vendor Management, Environment Health Safety and Security (EHSS), Compliance and Legal teams.
  • Effective written and verbal communications skills for internal audiences at all levels and must possess the ability to establish interpersonal relationships and build trust with key collaborators. In short, a go-getter who can cross organizational boundaries to get things done!
  • Mastery over all aspects of project management skills including planning, budgeting and prioritization.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in sustainability within engineering and/or business fields
  • Experience with circular economy or design for the environment principles
  • Ability to think strategically and implement tactically, a persistent attention to detail and a high level of comfort in working with numbers.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to a continuously shifting environment.
  • Demonstrate dedicated initiative to identify process improvements and create and implement more efficient processes as needed

Minimum Salary: $123,750.00

Maximum Salary:$189,750.00

The pay range for this position is expected to be between $123,750.00 and $189,750.00/year; however, the base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position also includes medical benefits, 401(k) eligibility, vacation, sick time, and parental leave. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Juniper’s pay range data is provided in accordance with local state pay transparency regulations. Juniper may post different minimum wage ranges for permanent residency petitions pursuant to US Department of Labor requirements.
