Position Overview
This role is pivotal in our journey toward renewable energy solutions, focusing on the hardware and electrical design aspects of our PV energy products, including inverters, EV chargers, energy storage systems, and communication systems. We seek a dynamic individual who not only excels as a highly capable individual contributor but also harbors the potential to evolve into a team builder, aligning with our company’s accelerated growth trajectory.
As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for leading the review and analysis of system requirements, executing technology evaluations, performing circuit analysis, overseeing PCB layout, and guiding complex engineering projects from conception to mass production. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to independently plan, define, and execute hardware development for wireless products.
Responsibilities
- Analyze system requirements and translate them into a robust hardware architecture.
- Technology Evaluation and Selection by leading the evaluation of potential chipset solutions, conduct tests, analyze data, and make recommendations.
- Lead hardware design activities across the product lifecycle, from concept development to mass production.
- Collaborative System Architecture and Design by defining electronic system architecture and collaborate with third-party partners to ensure seamless integration.
- Oversee the integration of electronic circuits, including controllers, power subsystems, communication modules, and RF components.
- Experience in hardware verification, BOM management, and EMC/EMI compliance testing, with expertise in optimizing PCB layouts to ensure compliance with EMC standards and manufacturing design rules.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of industry or research experience in electronics design for PCBAs using schematics capture and layout ((Such as Altium, PADS, OrCad, etc.)
- Experience with embedded systems design using microcontrollers (MCUs) and real-time operating systems (RTOS) in conjunction with wireless transceivers.
- Strong expertise in RF design and wireless chipsets, including the use of transceivers for technologies such as UWB, WiFi, Bluetooth, Zigbee, Thread, LTE, cellular IoT, LoRa, and GNSS.
- Experience in antenna selection, integration, advanced radio propagation modeling or possess experience in high-speed design and signal integrity (SI).
- Experience in hardware verification, BOM management, and EMC/EMI compliance testing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering, with a focus on communication technologies.
- Experience in renewable product development and Ultra Wideband (UWB) technology.
- Hands-on experience with electrical schematic and PCB layout tools.
- Proficiency in using electrical test equipment and board bring-up procedures.
- Familiarity with C2000 TI MCU, Raspberry Pi, and RTOS programming.
- Proficient in electrical simulation tools and high-speed system-on-chips (SoCs), DRAM, flash storage, PLC, CAN, Ethernet, USB, and both linear and switching power supplies.
- Ability to analyze and optimize circuits for cost-effectiveness.
- Strong analytical skills and detail-oriented approach.
