Salary $180,000 – $220,000 per year

Summary

As our VP of Electrical Engineering you will work directly with our clients to talk about their engineering needs in a business sense. Your mission will be to oversee the engineering team doing systems design for Meteorological systems in solar plants. This is a Managment and Technical position.

MUST HAVES

  • Commercial or Utility Solar Project experience.
  • Hands-on Electrical Engineering experience. (40% of this role is technical).
  • Autodesk (AutoCAD, Inventor, Vault; Bluebeam).

POSITION BREAKDOWN

  • Management – 20%, Strategy – 40%, Engineering – 40%

TRAVEL

  • UP TO 10%

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Oversee the engineering team doing system design (MET placement in solar plants); MET electrical & communications (backplate design, power, DAS), and MET mechanical (structures, mountings).
  • Work collaboratively with a multi-functional team, clients, vendors, and stakeholders
  • Get hands-on, when necessary research, write/refine necessary documentation (e.g., requirements, specs, guides), install and test prototypes, troubleshoot, etc.
  • Perform a breadth of electrical engineering activities define/refine system architecture, component selection, and embedded software development
  • Optimize product for manufacturability and engage suppliers/vendors to ensure high-quality, cost-effective manufacturing, assembly, and product configuration
  • Build mechanical design models (product form factor, fit of PCB in an enclosure, mountings, wiring layout, etc.)
  • Understand and achieve regulatory compliance requirements
  • Confirm system and component capabilities by designing and executing testing methods
  • Provide technical sales support to Sales and Marketing
  • Establish product development best practices to manage feature roadmaps, release schedules, timelines, and budgets

Education & Experience

  • Hands-on experience with Autodesk (AutoCAD, Inventor, Vault; Bluebeam).
  • Bachelors in Electrical Engineering preferred.
  • Commercial & Industrial or Utility-scale solar experience.
  • 10+ Years of professional experience.
