Job title: Vice-President of Proposal & Estimating – Solar EPC Utility

Requirements

  • Minimum of 20 years Experience with EPC and BOP estimate structure for creation of proposals for large utility and utility grade renewable energy power plant construction projects.
  • 10+ years solar and/or storage field operations at DG and/or utility scale level, preferably with experience in a PV and/or storage Project Manager role
  • 5+ years cross-functional project leadership with experience leading strategic planning and implementation
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in continuous process improvement, experienced or certified in Quality or Process Excellence methodologies preferred
  • Experience managing a team, creating a culture of performance, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Ability to recognize and recommend alternative designs/scope definitions which support consistency, standardization, and cost competitiveness.
  • Direct project development experience either on the development or finance side within the electrical and renewables construction industry
  • Solid track record of building and managing successful teams.
  • Experience with successfully working in a start-up environment.

Responsibilities

  • Providing guidance and mentoring to the estimating team to ensure accurate and competitive pricing, accurate cost tracking, and integrated scheduling
  • Coordinating cross-functionally with the organization to align project objectives and plans to support debt and tax equity execution
  • Responsible for department P&L, including project level budgets and estimates and ensure accuracy of financial forecasts, and operational execution to achieve financial and scheduling budgets.

Provide input into project strategy, project scope, schedules, resources, budgets, quality and change controls.

  • Research market and competition on an ongoing basis and provide suggestions and recommendations to top management.
  • Engage in contract and legal negotiations, incident investigations, safety training, and project assessments.
  • This position will drive business with the goal of creating credibility, building strong lasting relationships, and developing additional business opportunities with a consistent focus on growing the Helix Electric client brand.
