Chemours is seeking a Training Specialist to join our growing Minerals Operations team! This position will report directly to the Safety and Training Manager at our Starke, FL. location.

Organizes and conducts employee training programs. Conducts ongoing evaluations to ensure effectiveness of programs and recommends modifications as necessary. May develop new training programs. Monitors training results through employee progress and maintains records of training attendance to evaluate program effectiveness. May make determination regarding individual’s ability to perform tasks and/or position responsibilities.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Provide leadership, guidance, technical problem solving, training, improvement, and implementation support for safety at high hazard chemical operations and process safety management champion.
  • Interface with all site employees, corporate resources, regulatory agencies, unit operations, and be an active member of the site leadership team.
  • Work to improve systems, procedures, processes, individual capability and ownership around safety and process safety management.
  • Develop systems to manage process safety management programs across the Minerals Operations sites.
  • Develop and implement 1st and 2nd party safety audit program for process safety management.
  • Participate in/facilitate incident investigations as required for Tier 1,2,3 process safety events.
  • Serve as subject matter expert and site standard owner for Lock, Tag, and Try, Confined Space Entry, Line and Equipment Break, Fall Protection, Ladder and Scaffold Safety as well as other workplace safety elements.
  • Review regulatory briefs when related to EHS and process safety management and anticipate impact to Minerals Operations.
  • Serve as Process Safety Management Element Lead for Safe Work Practices and Hot Work.
  • Active participant of Site Safety Committees for process safety management.
The following is required for this role:
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
  • 3+ years of work experience/training in an occupational health and safety environment or occupational health related field pertaining to training and safety.
  • 3+ years of experience/training in a mining environment.
  • Must possess a MSHA Blue Card as a Certified Trainer.
  • Ability to anticipate, plan, develop, implement, audit, and improve sustainable systems and processes in the EHS and process safety management field.
  • Strong problem solving and technical skills, with emphasis on safety.
  • Eager to learn from, support, and coach all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment as the situation requires.
  • Ability to network and work cross-functionally with Operations, Technology, Maintenance, Safety, and Training organizations.
  • The successful candidate will be a highly motivated, self-starter who can work independently with minimal day-to-day supervision.
  • Strong multi-task/organization skills.
  • Excellent computer skills (Microsoft office i.e., spreadsheets, PowerPoint, and Reliance ETQ).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Pay Range (in local currency):

$70,426.00 – $110,040.00

Annual Bonus Target:

6%

The incentive pay is dependent on business results and individual performance and subject to the terms and conditions of the specific plans.
