Technical Solutions Engineer – Energy Storage

Key responsibilities for this role will include (but not limited to):

• Analyze energy storage system (ESS) project requirements, specifications, and client requests to ascertain technical delivery needs.
• Collaborate closely with sales and engineering teams to formulate technical proposals and provide comprehensive solutions to clients.
• Interface with the headquarters (HQ) team to support project engineering throughout execution, including Balance of System (BOS) design and Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) system-level design.
• Serve as a technical intermediary between sales, clients, and internal departments to ensure alignment.
• Act as a technical authority for ESS product applications, specifications, and inquiries, refining technical specifications and drawings as required.
• Oversee internal and external technical platforms to efficiently address internal and client requirements.
• Assist in the contract review process to identify and mitigate technical risks.
• Coordinate with HQ solution centers and product teams to manage product updates and technical revisions.
• Offer technical assistance during sales trips to effectively showcase product benefits.
• Interpret regulatory standards such as UL, IEEE, IEC, NEC, and North American grid codes to guide product development.
• Participate in industry events to bolster company brand recognition and contribute to industry expertise.

Required and desired skillsets, experience and qualifications for this role:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preferably Electrical) or a related field; master’s degree preferred.
• At least 3 years of experience in the renewable industry, with direct experience in BESS integration or EPC contracting preferred.
• At least 3 years of direct technical experience in roles such as Product/System Engineering or Project Engineering.
• Desired experience in Power Electronics, Battery Chemistry, Power System design, etc.
• Deep understanding of battery system configuration, installation, and design engineering.
• Proficiency in local jurisdiction requirements, fire codes, and electrical safety regulations.
• In-depth knowledge of ESS product and system requirements in various market sectors.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar software for generating engineering drawings.
