Whats this role about?

As a Technical Sales Engineer at GridBeyond, you will be instrumental in showcasing our Energy software solutions and product capabilities through prototyping and live demonstrations during sales presentations. Collaborating closely with Business Development Managers (BDMs), you will engage directly with high-energy consumption businesses, introducing them to our cutting-edge software solutions. Your mission is to highlight the unique advantages of flexible energy optimization, energy monetization through market participation and utility programs, and driving our vision to deliver a global zero carbon future.


What will I be doing?


Key Responsibilities:


Product Demonstration:
Create and deliver compelling prototypes and live demonstrations of GridBeyond’s software solutions during sales presentations to showcase the unique selling points of the GridBeyond energy optimization platform.


Collaboration with BDMs:
Partner with Business Development Managers to support their sales efforts by providing technical expertise and insights tailored to client needs.


Client Engagement:
Engage with intensive Commercial and Industrial energy users to understand their challenges and requirements, effectively communicating how our solutions can optimize their energy consumption.


Sales Strategy Contribution:
Contribute to the development of sales strategies by providing technical input and identifying opportunities for product enhancement based on client feedback.


Performance Metrics:
Monitor and report on key performance indicators related to sales presentations and customer engagement, helping to refine approaches and strategies.


Technical Support:
Provide pre-sales technical support, addressing customer inquiries and technical questions to facilitate the sales process


Market Insights:
Stay informed about industry trends and competitor offerings to effectively position GridBeyond as a frontrunner in energy management solutions.

What do I need to be a good technical fit for this role?


Qualifications:


Technical Expertise in the field of Energy Management and Energy Markets:
A solid understanding of energy management systems and market dynamics, particularly in demand response, energy efficiency, or renewable energy technologies.

Software Proficiency: Familiarity with energy optimization software and analytics tools, including experience with data visualization platforms.

Engineering Background: A degree in engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Energy Systems) or a related field to provide a strong foundation for understanding technical concepts.

Sales Acumen: Experience in a sales or customer-facing role within the tech or energy sector, with a proven ability to communicate complex technical information effectively.

Analytical Skills: Strong analytical abilities to assess client needs, evaluate energy data, and recommend tailored solutions that enhance performance.

Problem-Solving Skills: Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting and providing solutions to energy-related challenges faced by clients.

Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and create impactful presentations.

Project Management Experience: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely follow-ups and client satisfaction throughout the sales process.

Adaptability: Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and market changes, showing an eagerness to stay ahead in the fast-evolving energy landscape.

Networking Skills: Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with clients, industry professionals, and internal teams.
