About The Role

CBRE is seeking a Sustainability Project Manager to support our Project Management team with sustainability and wellness-building. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, comfortable working independently, and demonstrate a successful history of working with decarbonization and net zero projects.

What You’ll Do

  • Identify strategies and solutions for clients that improve the performance and sustainability of the built environment and develop project-appropriate sustainability and/or health and wellbeing strategies.
  • Develop and propose potential solutions that resolve complex business problems and meet or exceed client expectations, including decarbonization levers to drive net-zero achievement.
  • Communicate sustainability requirements and obligations to other team members, both internal and external. Interface directly with clients to report ongoing project status and next steps.
  • Lead monthly coordination meetings with contractors to assist them in the completion of – required documentation and achievement of their required credits and optimizations.
  • Write reports to communicate decarbonization and net zero achievements and provide recommendations for improved building performance.
  • Lead multiple projects independently, under the mentorship of senior teammates; and support senior teammates on complex projects.
  • Manage and analyze environmental performance data including energy, water, and waste utility consumption and costs; benchmark performance; and monitor and interpret performance trends.
  • Prioritizing time to stay on track with billable activities, within project budgets and time allocations, and project prioritization.
  • Participate in monthly invoicing and financial projections for all project-related work.
  • Function as a highly productive team member in interdisciplinary groups that include technical and non-technical staff.
  • Support identification and coordination of ESG projects and initiatives at property and portfolio levels. Examples include energy and water efficiency technology deployment, implementation of operational standard processes, and strategic outreach/messaging campaigns.

What You’ll Need

  • BA/BS in Architecture, Engineering, Construction, or Environmental Science, or a combination of education and experience will be accepted in lieu of a degree.
  • 4 years of professional experience leading sustainability and net zero building projects.
  • Experience handling data and sustainability project-related activities and life cycle analyses preferred.
  • Experience with net zero and decarbonization initiatives and different frameworks (SBTIs, CRREEM, etc.).
  • Understanding of the climate change policy, regulatory landscape, and ESG reporting and disclosure landscape
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
