Support Specialist Construction Services/Heavy Hauling

Location: Forest Park, Ga (Georgia Power Company Transmission – General Services Headquarters)

JOB SUMMARY

This position is responsible for auditing invoices for Heavy Hauling, maintaining the Trails system, as well as assisting the dispatch team when needed. This position will also support other groups in Construction Services with various special projects as needed.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Successful candidate will be responsible for working with other employees and Supervisor in auditing, renting, and dispatching construction equipment to Transmission Construction and Georgia Power personnel.
  • Job role requires heavy interfacing with Heavy Hauling contract companies & GPC personnel in invoicing, routing, and delivery of materials, equipment, and services.
  • Must be able to prioritize, multitask, and remain focused in a changing environment.
  • Responsible for maintaining trackers in the Trails tracking system.
  • Must participate in scheduled rotation to receive after hours emergency calls.
  • Must be able to follow and complete established processes.
  • Must be an expert at customer service, clearly demonstrating the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Track equipment and ensure that inventory is correct.
  • Assist with scheduling of material deliveries to successfully complete projects.
  • Must be available to work assigned storm duty, which could include evenings, weekends, and overnight travel.
  • Must be able to communicate with multiple supervisors for work direction on special projects.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education Requirements:

  • High School graduate/ GED equivalent. Advanced course work desirable

Experience Requirements:

  • Working knowledge of transmission construction equipment is strongly desired.
  • Understand and embrace the GPC safety culture.
  • Working knowledge of contractual agreements.
  • At least 5 years experience in the above areas is desired.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Good organizational skills with the ability to balance multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Capable of working efficiently and effectively across multiple organizations.
  • Strong problem solving skills and decision making abilities.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office programs, specifically Word, Excel, & Access.
  • Pre-employment EEI Customer Service Representative test is required and must be passed in order for candidate to be considered.
