Responsibilities:
- Review solar plant designs, including new sites and modifications to existing assets.
- Provide quality control and supervisory support during future solar plant construction.
- Recommend enhancements and implement improvements to increase plant output.
- Oversee periodic aerial inspections, ensuring compliance with licensing requirements.
- Lead testing and troubleshooting for battery energy storage systems.
- Perform remote diagnostic checks and equipment resets as needed.
- Plan and execute facility tours with stakeholders and community members.
- Create and revise standard work instructions.
- Operate aerial drone equipment for inspections and troubleshooting.
- Lead emergency response activities and work on scheduled on-call shifts.
- Conduct planned maintenance and respond to emergent issues.
- Provide on-the-job training to less experienced field staff.
- Document daily tasks in the work management system.
- Prioritize safety, lead site safety meetings, analyze job hazards, and resolve issues promptly.
- Perform industry-related research and share best practice recommendations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- 5+ years in renewables (Solar preferred)
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to travel
- NABCEP Certification
- Eligibility to obtain FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certification for drone operation.
- Familiarity with OSHA 1910.269, National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 70E, and 70B.
- Proficiency in interpreting technical specifications, site plans, and electrical schematics.
- Understanding of photovoltaic technologies, control systems, field measuring devices, network hardware, and electric metering.
- Comfortable working with voltages up to 1,500VDC and 1,000VAC.
