From initial assessment to installation and maintenance, we work together with our Crete United Partners to implement commercial solar and renewables where it makes sense.
Our renewable energy team is expanding and looking to add a Director/VP of Renewables based remotely or in our TX office. The ideal candidate will have 8+ years in solar/renewable energy development and possess dynamic leadership skills.
Responsibilities
- Lead a Renewable Energy development & EPC team with a heavy focus on commercial and industrial (C&I) and light utility solar.
- Oversee Crete United’s development, EPC, and O&M activities.
- Drive solar and battery storage development and EPC projects to NTP and commercial operation.
- Lead financing and due diligence efforts for placing tax and sponsor equity.
- Evaluate solar and renewables incentive programs to support origination and sales teams in finding and contracting new opportunities.
- Modeling renewable energy solutions such as solar, battery storage, EV charging, and microgrids using software tools such as Energy Toolbase and Helioscope.
- Responsible for P&L of the Renewables division.
- Identify target markets with strong solar/storage incentive programs and/or high energy costs.
- Support all Crete United Partners in renewable energy development and construction.
- Understanding the regulatory environments for renewables
- Maintain robust relationships with all Crete Renewables clients and trade partners.
- Negotiate and execute key contracts associated with the business (PPA, EPC, O&M, etc.)
- Provide sales forecasts and budget reports to monitor performance and ensure alignment with financial objectives.
- Maintain a strong outward industry presence to grow Crete United’s presence in the renewable energy industry.
Qualifications
- Deep knowledge and successful track record in meeting revenue goals within the U.S. solar C&I and/or Utility markets.
- Comprehensive understanding of solar finance, development, technology, construction, and the U.S. C&I market dynamics.
- Outstanding communication and negotiation abilities.
- Proven track record in customer relationship management.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a related field—or equivalent experience—is preferred.
- At least 8 years of experience in U.S. commercial or utility scale solar projects in a senior development, project management, or EPC role within the solar or renewable energy sector.
