Summary

This is a very dynamic and fast-track position reporting to the Operations Manager. The position will be a key member of Sungrow service team. This position will also be the technical point of the contact person to support FSE teams for warranty, commissioning, and troubleshooting/repairs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform the pre-commissioning and commissioning of solar inverters achieving the milestones agreed with utility scale customers.
  • Perform Preventive Maintenance projects as needed.
  • Perform a variety of engineering assignment involving technology applications involved in the installation, operation, testing and maintenance of central solar inverter.
  • Perform electrical and electronic troubleshooting and testing of solar inverters and its components in the field.
  • Troubleshoot to investigate solar plant issues such as DC grid faults, and inverter design issues or faults.
  • Provide feedback to the Sungrow FSE on possible mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Work independently in the field and with FSE Engineers to resolve high level technical issues, leading the investigation of root cause of for technology applications for complex projects.
  • Apply knowledge of design specifications for more complex systems/projects
  • Verify and comply with engineering documentation standards and test procedures.
  • Prepare, deliver, and submit technical papers and daily reports (ESRs, Daily Reports, Commissioning Checklists, Etc)
  • Support development of technical proposal and provide comments on the technical content and level of effort of the proposed scope of work

Minimum Requirements

  • 2 plus years of overall PV experience
  • 2+ years of experience in Sungrow solar inverters
  • Must possess the ability to work with test equipment and hand tools as required.
  • Must possess customer service, problem-solving skills, and possess decision making and analytical skills.
  • Must possess effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to closely follow instruction and pre-established procedures/SOP to perform the ductions of the job.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, power Point and Outlook)
  • OSHA, NFPA70E, Electrical Safety a plus
  • Have experience and/or certification with MV transformers a plus.
  • Clean Driving Record and Background
  • Must be willing to take and pass a drug screen.

  • Full time, Statewide in Texas, with some out of state work at times.
