Job Description What You Will Do: As a Solar Installer you would be responsible for providing leadership and technical expertise for a solar installation crew of three to five members. The Solar Installer is responsible for safety, quality, customer service, and productivity and ensures the successful completion of residential and small commercial projects.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the installation of solar panels, mounting hardware, and electrical components. This includes ensuring proper alignment, wiring, and connection to the electrical grid.
  • Responsible for following safety protocols
  • Ensure that the installation work meets industry standards and regulations. This involves inspecting the work at various stages to identify and rectify any issues or defects.
  • Responsible for inventory management, ensuring that all necessary materials and equipment are available for the installation process.
  • Ensure cleanliness of jobsite, work truck and trailer
  • Responsible for diagnosing and troubleshooting problems with the solar energy system.
  • Communicate effectively with project managers, clients, and team members to provide updates on progress, address concerns, and coordinate schedules.
  • Responsible for training new team members on installation techniques, safety procedures, and quality standards.
  • Oversee routine maintenance and repairs of solar systems to ensure they continue to operate efficiently (as necessary)
  • Maintaining accurate records all installations, services and repairs performed in our software systems (Housecall Pro/SiteCapture/Sunnova app/Enphase app/Solar Edge app, etc.)
  • Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor with all customers
  • Be on time to each appointment and communicate in advance with the Production Manager if timelines cannot be met
  • Require knowledge: documentation of training for Enphase, SolarEdge, Tesla, etc.
  • Staying up-to-date with the latest developments/training in solar technology, industry regulations, and safety protocols.
  • Perform other related duties, as required

For this role, you will need:

  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
  • Must be able to climb a ladder and work on a steep sloped roof
  • Must be willing to get in a crawl space/attic
  • Must be willing to work on your feet for long periods of time
  • Must maintain a professional attitude and appearance
  • Must be willing to work outside during all 4 seasons of the year
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, required
  • High attention to detail, required
  • Good vehicle background and driver’s license, required
  • You will need to provide your own tools
