Title: Technical Solar Designer/ Consultant

Duration: Full-Time

Pay Rate: Open to Market

Location: Remote with 10% travel

Interview Times: Open

Process to Close: 3 rounds virtual

Must Have Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in solar design and project management.
  • Strong knowledge of solar energy systems, including PV technology, inverters, and energy storage.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for renewable energy and sustainability.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Plusses:

  • Experience building a Solar Program for a Renewable Energy company
  • Experience running projects from start to finish

Job Summary:

As a Technical Solar Designer, you will develop detailed solar design plans, conduct site assessments, and utilize industry-standard software to create efficient solar designs. You will identify and target potential customers, develop strategies to attract new clients, and present solar energy solutions tailored to their needs. Overseeing the installation and commissioning of solar projects, you will ensure compliance with design specifications and safety standards, while providing technical support throughout the project lifecycle. Additionally, you will develop go-to-market plans, analyze market trends, and generate new business leads to drive revenue growth. Other Responsibilities include:

  • Develop detailed solar design plans, including system layouts, electrical schematics, and equipment specifications.
  • Utilize industry-standard software (e.g., AutoCAD, PVsyst) to create accurate and efficient solar designs.
  • Conduct site assessments to determine optimal system placement and performance.
  • Identify and target potential customers through market research and networking.
  • Develop and implement strategies to attract new clients and build lasting relationships.
  • Present and explain solar energy solutions to prospective customers, addressing their specific needs and concerns.
  • Oversee the installation and commissioning of solar projects, ensuring compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
  • Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure timely and successful project completion.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting during and after project implementation.
  • Develop and execute go-to-market plans for new solar products and services.
  • Analyze market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities for growth.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to create promotional materials and campaigns.
  • Generate new business leads and account opportunities to increase revenue.
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of potential clients and projects.
