Solar/BESS Commissioning Engineer

Location: Full Travel (Primarily Southeast United States)

Job Type: Full-Time, Contract

Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Utility-Scale Commissioning Manager to lead the commissioning activities for our utility-scale solar and battery storage clients. This role requires extensive travel to various project sites, primarily in the Southeast United States. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commissioning renewable energy systems and exceptional leadership skills to manage and guide commissioning teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and oversee the commissioning process for utility-scale solar and battery storage systems.
• Develop and implement comprehensive commissioning plans, procedures, and documentation.
• Coordinate with project managers, design engineers, and contractors to ensure seamless project execution.
• Perform inspections, testing, and troubleshooting to verify the proper installation and functionality of systems.
• Use monitoring tools and software to assess system performance and identify potential issues.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations during all commissioning activities.
• Provide training and support to site personnel on new systems and equipment.
• Prepare detailed reports on commissioning activities, test results, and system performance.
• Manage and mentor a team of commissioning engineers and technicians.
• Ensure project timelines are met and address any issues that may arise during the commissioning process.
• Facilitate communication and collaboration between various stakeholders involved in the projects.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in commissioning utility-scale solar and/or battery storage systems.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, schematics, and renewable energy technologies.
• Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Ability to develop and implement commissioning plans and procedures.
• Strong project management and organizational skills.
• Exceptional leadership and team management abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to travel extensively and work on-site at various project locations.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Technical certification or training in electrical engineering or a related field.
• Previous experience in a managerial or supervisory role within the renewable energy sector.
