Job Overview:
The Solar Asset Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the dispatch and management of a team of technicians for efficient and effective maintenance and repair of an assigned portfolio of solar energy assets. Their primary focus is to minimize costs for the client while ensuring optimal performance and uptime of the solar assets.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Coordinate the dispatch of technicians for maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities at solar energy assets.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize dispatch operations, minimizing response time and maximizing efficiency.
- Collaborate with internal teams to prioritize and schedule maintenance activities based on site performance and contractual obligations.
- Monitor and analyze performance data from solar sites to identify potential issues or areas for improvement.
- Proactively identify opportunities to optimize dispatch processes and minimize costs for the client.
- Ensure that dispatched teams have the necessary resources, equipment, and information to perform their tasks effectively.
- Coordinate with internal teams to facilitate, monitor, and challenge the operational performance and optimization metrics to achieve the highest possible availability and gross profit.
- Collaborate with site owners, internal monitoring teams, and asset management firms to address site-specific issues and find timely solutions.
- Maintain accurate records of dispatch activities, including work orders, reports, and documentation.
- Monitor the performance of dispatched teams and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
- Maintain records of equipment warranty and documentation for any warranty-related claims for the equipment being maintained at a Solar Asset.
- Stay updated with industry best practices and emerging technologies related to solar asset management and dispatch operations.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in engineering, business, or equivalent industry experience.
- Driven Entrepreneurial mindset, and ability to own and be responsible for all aspects of an assigned portfolio
- Strong attention to detail and ability to make sound decisions.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work with little to no supervision.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire people to action through influence.
- Proven experience in managing field teams and coordinating dispatch operations, preferably in the renewable energy industry.
- Understanding of solar system design and operations. Prior operational experience in solar, wind, thermal, hydro, or nuclear industries is a plus.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills to handle a high volume of dispatch requests.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and address issues promptly.
- Effective communication skills to liaise with internal teams, site owners, and technicians.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
