On behalf of our client, DMT Clear Gas Solutions, we are seeking a talented Service & Commissioning Engineer. This is a remote position, preferably located in the Midwest or on East coast. Extended travel throughout the US will be required and can be as high as 75%.

POSITION OVERVIEW

In the role of the Service & Commissioning Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring installation projects are completed and maintained safely and successfully. This includes the inspection of sites and materials, making sure safety protocols are followed, scheduling installations, troubleshooting problems, and suggesting improvements. You will answer customer questions about product features, issues, and upgrades, and complete customer training. You must have advanced knowledge of mechanical and electrical engineering, and project management.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Commission bio-energy installations (mechanical/electrical) and travel to job sites to independently lead the organization, planning, performance, and testing of installations.
  • Conduct equipment checks and system tests in the field to ensure correct operation.
  • Review test results and prepare test reports to confirm compliance with technical specifications.
  • Work with engineering and operating groups to carry out tests and repairs,
  • Exercise full discretion while solving malfunctions on installations to implement lasting solutions.
  • Check controls, both hardware and software,
  • Organize, plan, and perform service and preventative maintenance of bio-energy installations to ensure the installations are maintained appropriately,
  • Coordinate outsourced work and service contracts, with partners/subcontractors to ensure workflow continuity for onsite visits.
  • Participate in site/emergency support team to address urgent matters that impact the safety or productivity of installations.
  • Work closely and cross-functionally within your team, with other DMT-CGS teams, suppliers, customers, and service partners using your communication skills, both verbal and written, using the agreed upon and established communication and workflow tools.
  • Maintain and manage technical files such as operation/maintenance manuals and register “as maintained” information in our ERP system ensuring ISAH reports are kept up to date, allowing for efficient management of contracts and service trips.
  • In cooperation with the procurement department, select parts and equipment, including alternatives, request quotes, purchase materials, and equipment, and schedule the work when preparing a commissioning, service, or repair trip; or a request for spare parts from a client.
  • Offer technical support to our onsite team so timely completion of the work is assured.
  • Part of the 24/7 PTS (Process Technical Support) team.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

  • Bachelor’s Engineering Degree or higher.
  • Direct experience in this, or a similar role, will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • 2-4 years of related experience. Broad experience in a similar role; experience with process installations, gasses, PED and ATEX regulations is a plus.
  • Able to work with ERP systems, MS Office, SCADA/HMI & PLC systems.
  • Skilled in interpreting P&IDs, electrical schemes, and control philosophy documents.
  • Strong coordination experience which includes detailed planning, organizing, and documenting.
  • Excellent communication skills; written and verbal with a good command of English.
  • Excellent organization skills; attention to detail, results-oriented.
  • Proficient MS Office skills, especially Excel.
  • Valid US Driver’s License to travel to client sites
  • Ability to travel up to 75% primarily nationwide. Occasional international travel, primarily for training.
