Job Summary

Manage key strategic projects related to overarching PSE&G/Utility initiatives. The position provides oversight and coordination of all activities related to the successful completion of assigned project(s) and initiatives from cradle to grave, including but not limited the scoping, implementation and development of a change management plan and reporting methodology. Responsible for identifying, prioritizing and coordinating implementation efforts for the top Utility strategic objectives, as well as the reporting and metrics/measures of those efforts. The candidate will achieve the desired results of the assigned projects through the use of PSEG’s Values and Behavioral Standards, sound project management practices and skills, and a demonstrated commitment to collaborative teamwork. Successful candidate will support the Utility lines of business in accomplishing the desired scorecard results and business objectives, and ensure the quality of work performed is in compliance with all Company standards, procedures, safe work practices, and government laws and regulations while successfully managing project budget and schedule adherence.


Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible and fully accountable for managing a team of analysts and engineers and the coordination of resources across the Utility for the full life-cycle management of multi-discipline strategic projects from time of assignment to commissioning and close-out.
  • Responsible for ensuring that project objectives are successful and achieved safely, environmentally compliant and within scope, schedule and budget.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership in successfully managing cross-functional project teams and multiple work streams.
  • Responsible for the development, prioritization, communication and monitoring of key Utility objectives. Maintain and monitor project agreements, plans and schedules, conduct project reviews, resolve issues and engage key associates and teams across the Utility to ensure that the assigned projects are professionally and comprehensively planned and executed.
  • Engage directly with stakeholders, including senior PSE&G leaders, government officials, and team members, to ensure alignment and buy-in. Monitor project progress, identify potential risk and issues, and implement mitigation strategies to leadership and ensuring that all parties are informed of project status and changes.
  • Manage project budgets, ensuring resources are allocated effectively and financial objectives are met. Drive continues improvement within the PMO and project processes by implementing best practices and innovative solutions. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and company policies.
  • Responsible for the development of a workforce model for MAST Utility employees to inform the 10 year headcount plan and support employee development initiatives.
  • Develop a plan for reporting status of initiatives and tracking of key Utility level metrics.
  • Collaborate closely with the Utility lines of business and the Sr. Project Manager People & Culture on initiatives supporting the key Utility strategies.
  • Maintain and apply working knowledge of PSEG Standards for Business Controls and Standards of Integrity.

Job Specific Qualifications

Required
  • BS in Engineering, Business or equivalent degree
  • A minimum of four (4) years of project management and/or program management
  • A minimum of six (6) years of utility experience
  • Proven management experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • General knowledge of basic computer applications, i.e., MS Office Suite
  • Will be included in DERC on-call coverage, accepting call-out obligations as may be required
  • Will be subject to DOT random drug testing

Desired:

  • Advanced computer application knowledge,
  • MS in engineering/other discipline or MBA
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
