Job Description

Role: SCADA Engineer

Location: East Coast – remote

This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a leading company in the renewable energy sector, focusing on cutting-edge solar technologies and large-scale energy projects. You’ll have the chance to make a significant impact on the optimization and success of utility-scale solar power generation.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, network engineering, computer science, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of proven experience designing and implementing SCADA systems, in the solar energy industry.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, power electronics, and control theory.
  • Proficiency in SCADA platforms such as Canary Labs, Ignition, or similar software.
  • Experience with SCADA communication protocols like Modbus, MQTT, OPC UA, or DNP3.
  • Skilled in HMI design and development.
  • Solid programming skills (Python, SQL, VBA, Java) for system integration and scripting.
  • Strong knowledge of network architecture and fiber/copper-based network maintenance.
  • Familiarity with data storage, historian solutions, and cybersecurity requirements.
  • Knowledge of NERC CIP compliance is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, team collaboration, and communication abilities.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for system installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems for utility-scale solar power plants.
