We’re currently partnered with an innovative Battery Technology company on an exciting North American Sales Manager role! The Sales Manager will be responsible for maximizing sales revenue through direct prospecting calls and customer engagement for the lead-acid battery expansion project. The role involves cultivating key relationships to meet established growth and profitability targets.
⚡ Key Relationships:
- Reports to the VP Sales & Marketing
- Collaborates with Manufacturing/Production teams
- Coordinates with suppliers and customers
- Acts as secondary contact for the Customer Care Representative, including sales, technical service, external customers, and shipment vendors
⚡ Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve growth objectives, improve gross profit, and expand market share.
- Formulate long-term pricing strategies aligned with capital requirements.
- Represent the organization within the Lead-Acid Market.
- Manage and maintain relationships with the Lead Acid battery industry.
- Serve as the first point of contact for customers regarding product needs and issues.
- Oversee all commercial activities including generating new business, launching new products, maintaining current business, resolving issues, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Lead the RFQ process from initial discussions through business awards, providing detailed pricing and technical solutions.
- Negotiate internally and externally to optimize margins and secure new business.
- Ensure customer satisfaction post-sales, fostering long-term relationships and repeat business.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with external customers and internal departments to align the business with customer needs.
- Conduct monthly business forecasts for both domestic and international customers.
- Collaborate with R&D and technical teams to meet product requirements and support growth opportunities.
⚡ Skills Required:
- Experience in value-based technical B2B sales.
- Understanding of product and vendor qualification processes.
- Proven ability to develop value-driven pricing strategies.
- Knowledge of the Lead-Acid battery market.
- Experience in the energy storage market is a plus.
- Strong communication, listening, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work across multiple departments such as quality, R&D, and laboratory professionals.
- Excellent business acumen with strategic and analytical capabilities.
⚡ Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related technical field.
- 5 to 15 years of experience in technical B2B sales is required.
- Previous experience in the battery industry is preferred but not required.
