Our team is now looking to expand. We are seeking a highly motivated and creative Roll-to-Roll Engineer to join our our R&D team and contribute to the development, prototyping, and building of next-gen solar devices and beyond!

About the Role

Description

As a Roll-to-Roll Technician, you will be integral to our manufacturing operations, operating sophisticated machinery, and contributing to the scale-up of our production capabilities. You will work closely with engineers and other technicians to ensure the efficient production of our solar devices. You will work directly with the Founder & Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and quickly see your vision translate from into larger scale manufacturing and production of the next generation of thin-film photovoltaics.

Responsibilities

  • Operate roll-to-roll processing equipment, ensuring precise control and maintenance of our thin-film manufacturing processes.
  • Perform regular maintenance and troubleshooting of R&D scale manufacturing equipment to minimize downtime and maintain productivity.
  • Execute detailed production tasks with a high level of accuracy, following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to conduct experiments and production runs, providing essential feedback on process improvements.
  • Handle and dispose of hazardous materials in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of process adjustments, equipment maintenance, and production outcomes.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts to enhance production efficiency and safety protocols.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in operating and troubleshooting complex manufacturing equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of statistical process control and its application in manufacturing.
  • Ability to perform precise and detail-oriented work in a high-volume production environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Willingness to work flexible shifts in a continuous production setting.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.

Nice to Haves

  • Experience with automation and process control in roll-to-roll for printed electronics in manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of current trends and innovations in coating and roll-to-roll manufacturing.
  • Background in implementing manufacturing practices and processes.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 – $200,000.00 per year
