Canadian Solar is seeking a technically minded Regional Sales Manager for our Residential Energy Storage product: EP Cube. In this role you will foster strong customer relationships and develop business opportunities in your designated sales territory. You’ll be trusted to uncover new opportunities, drive sales and cement Canadian Solar as a market share leader in the respective region as you sell products from CSI’s component portfolio.
Primary Responsibilities
- Generate, identify, qualify and contact new business leads for the Residential Energy Storage division of Canadian Solar: EP Cube and promote the sale of products from our portfolio
- Establish new relationships with PV Distribution and Installation companies that will result in new revenue channels and perpetuate Canadian Solar’s reputation as a leading manufacturer
- Meet with existing distribution and installation partners; develop a close, binding relationship, understand their needs and take steps to ensure EP Cube is positioned to solve their needs
- Travel approximately 50% (or more) throughout the year within your designated sales territory to build strong relationships and have deep-dive technical conversations with our target customer base.
- Use data to gauge your success and track how you’re pacing towards meeting and exceeding individual and team KPI’s (key performance indicators) related to new business growth, sales volume, market share and more within your designated territories
- Manage the entire sales cycle (lead generation, technical education and deal closing) of our Energy Storage solutions in the Residential Sector.
- Partner closely with Executives in Sales, Operations, Planning and more to establish revenue forecasts, communicate progress towards established goals, and conduct prospect reviews
- Collect competitive market and territory data from the field, sharing best practices and new business development opportunities with your collective team
- Participate in trade shows and conferences to represent the company, to entertain clients and prospects and to close new sales opportunities.
- Establish “product bankability” to support clients with project financing and lender acceptance
Required Qualifications
- Must have 3 years of B2B sales experience, within the Energy Storage or Battery industry
- 5 years B2B sales of tangible products that are technical and/or electrical in nature
- Ability to quickly uncover unique challenges and needs of customers within your assigned states/territory
- Willingness and excitement to travel approximately 50% (or more) throughout the year within your designated sales territory. Frequency determined by strategy, attainment of targets, business needs and the individual needs of customers in each area.
- You live within 1 hour of a major airport and within the territory you’ll support
- You have your own playbook for generating new business and your own lead generation strategy that will set you up for success as you explore opportunities to grow our brand
- Strong ability to find the decision maker in a complex deal, identify their criteria or hesitations, overcome objections and sell the Panels and Inverters manufactured by Canadian Solar
- Strong presentation and communication skills – In person, over video/phone and email
- Excellent interpersonal skills: you’re a team player, open to trying to new things, receptive to coaching and feedback and can thrive while managing yourself in a remote capacity
- High proficiency of MS Office applications, Outlook and CRM tools such as Salesforce
- Bachelors or Associate degree in business management, administration, engineering, supply chain or related a related field is a plus, but not required
- Bilingual in languages like Chinese, Mandarin, Spanish or Portuguese and others are a plus, but not required
Compensation And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $105.000,00 to $140.000,00 This range represents annual base salary only, without regard to location, and does not include quarterly bonuses or incentives or benefits that may apply. The pay range for this role is subject to change.
