Our client is a renewable energy company focused on developing, owning, and operating utility-scale wind, geothermal, and solar generation. They own 1.7 GWs (net equity) of wind and solar generating capacity and 2.1 GWh of battery storage facilities in operation across 29 renewable power facilities throughout the Western United States with a focus on the California marketplace. our client’s subsidiaries are responsible for the operation and maintenance of over 2,2.5GWs of renewable projects and 3.9 GWh of battery storage facilities. Our client’s operating portfolio is one of the largest renewable businesses in the United States. They continues to expand operations in renewable generation through a combination of acquisitions of operating projects, development of new projects and partnering on mid and late stage development opportunities

Our client is seeking a dynamic individual to join the Investments team. The Director will take a lead role on all financing and risk functions including structuring and executing on Tax Equity and Debt transactions for all of our clients projects. The individual will play a key role in working closely with senior team members in screening new M&A investment opportunities as well as work closely with the our client’s Development team to shepherd our client’s pipeline assets across solar, solar+storage, standalone storage projects through successful accretive financings.’

Specific Job Functions:

  • Lead and execute key underwriting functions including project valuation, due diligence, and negotiating key project contracts and financing documents
  • Advanced financial analysis and financial modeling across project finance Tax Equity and Debt transaction structures for Solar and energy storage projects
  • Lead Investment Committee process and seamlessly navigate diligence and credit processes for financing partners
  • Evaluate new markets and growth opportunities for the company
  • Drive internal/external teams and subject matter experts to optimal execution path
  • Monitor state and federal renewable incentive programs and future trends for new market
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of relevant experience in renewable energy finance, M&A, or related sectors
  • Demonstrated success in project and portfolio valuation, modeling transaction capital structures, risk assessment, and contract negotiation
  • Ability to apply critical, out-of-the-box thinking, work on multiple workstreams in a dynamic, cross-functional team environment
  • In-depth understanding of energy markets, solar, energy storage technologies, offtake structures
