Job Description

This organization is looking for a Project Engineering Manager to oversee all project engineering operations. Throughout the project execution phase, this role must operate successfully in a collaborative, fast-paced setting and exhibit good project management, development, and execution capabilities. The ideal applicant will be an original thinker, quick learner, collaborative team member, and self-starter with a love for the renewable energy business and a track record of success prospering in a fast-paced workplace.

Key responsibilities for this role will include (but not limited to):

• Ensure that designs are Code-compliant, including expertise with the most recent NEC and NESC upgrades.

• Construct and supervise project electrical designs such as single line drawings, DC and AC wire diagrams, electrical site plans, and equipment layouts.

• Supervise project design for all projects in the execution phase for solar and battery storage, including but not limited to civil, structural, electrical, and SCADA design.

• Assist with procurement processes, including technical bid examination to guarantee specification compliance.

• Handles schedules, budgets, and estimations until the project is completed on time and within budget. Leads frequent assessments of the engineering execution schedule, the expediting of engineering teams, the escalation of demands, and the reporting of project technical delivery status.

• Led directly the planning, setup, and monitoring of project systems, inter-discipline workflows, and coordination of design efforts across engineering disciplines. Coordinates and resolves interdisciplinary challenges.

• Serves as the leader of Engineering process improvement projects.

• Assists with sourcing equipment specification, bid analysis, vendor selection, and capacity evaluation.

• Maintains the contractual process for the owner’s engineers, vendors, and subcontractors, beginning with discussions and ending with final contracting.

• Support front-end project development, design, and funding requirements by collaborating with project development and project finance.

Required and desired skillsets, experience, and qualifications for this role:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in engineering, mathematics, or a related area.

• More than 5 years of relevant renewable energy expertise, including experience with utility-scale solar PV systems

• Knowledge of systems engineering and integration.

• Hands-on experience with the most recent solar solutions, such as solar modules, inverters, mounting systems, and BESS.

• Understand and be able to do complicated analyses using solar design software such as PVSyst, ETAP or SKM, and WinIGS or CDEGS.

• AutoCAD, MATLAB, Visual Basic, and Google Earth skills are required.

• Understanding of the electricity and renewable energy markets.

• Construction and field experience is strongly preferred.

• Ability to utilize Excel spreadsheets, create excel trackers, and be able to use Word and Powerpoint for reporting/presentations via teams or in person.
