Job Description:
The Production Support Clerk will play a crucial role in assisting production manager and supervisors in the day-to-day operations of the manufacturing process. This position involves a variety of administrative tasks that ensure smooth and efficient production activities. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and proficient in office software with strong communication skills. Bilingual abilities (Spanish or Chinese) are a significant plus.
Responsibilities:
- Assist production engineers and supervisors with daily tasks and ongoing projects.
- Purchase and manage office supplies and equipment, ensuring timely procurement and availability.
- Submit Purchase Requisitions (PR) and track the approval process.
- Manage and maintain inventory records, ensuring accurate and up-to-date stock levels.
- Verify operator status, including attendance, overtime availability, and absence tracking.
- Utilize office software to calculate, organize, and maintain data related to production metrics.
- Track and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and attendance rates for the production team.
- Support the compilation of reports and data analysis for management review.
- Coordinate with various departments to ensure efficient workflow and communication.
- Perform other clerical and administrative duties as assigned by the Production Manager.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or related disciplines) is preferred. Equivalent experience may also be considered.
- 1-3 years experience in manufacturing setting preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with office management software.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Bilingual abilities (Spanish or Chinese) are a significant plus.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic knowledge of inventory management and procurement processes is desirable.
- Comfortable working in a production environment and liaising with various departments.
- Must be available to work Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit for prolonged periods while working on a computer.
- Occasionally required to stand and walk through the production area.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with ERP/MES systems is a plus.
- Previous experience in a similar role within the manufacturing industry.
