Summary:

OCC Operator I is a control room operator with full responsibility for operating and monitoring within our Operations Control Center (OCC) the status of all renewable energy assets (Solar, BESS, Wind) on a continuous basis to ensure that the system meets its generating requirements while operating in a safe and efficient manner. Operator I ensures that all renewable energy assets operations are conducted in the most efficient and reliable manner and according to industry best practices. Operator I operates within all regulatory requirements, as well as environmental and safety standards

Requirements:

  • Monitors and operates renewable assets within our fleet including alarm and warning resolution, curtailment procedures, call-out procedures, casualty control, and emergency action planning.
  • Ensures maximum SCADA connectivity and resolving SCADA/communication failures to ensure control and monitoring capabilities are always available.
  • Follows optimized communication systems for our renewable energy asset fleet, between the OCC and local site personnel, balancing authorities, transmission operators, and off-takers.
  • Maintains formal operator logs of real-time activities, notifications, and communications as required by procedural and contractual requirements.
  • Supports the operations of the O&M and Asset Management Group to help provide a rapid market response to certain pertinent events and to support cost-effective ISO scheduling and settlements.
  • Supports scheduling unplanned outages with Scheduling Entities.
  • Actively supports the Maintenance Team in the execution of maintenance plans by providing support (Lockout/Tagout), equipment identification, troubleshooting, work request preparation, or other areas as needed.
  • Participates in the administrative maintenance of plant operating manuals, technical references, prints and diagrams, and preventive/predictive maintenance records.
  • Maintains RES safety standards.
  • Attends work regularly and punctually, as scheduled or expected.
  • Complies with Employee Handbook, Code of Conduct and Company Policies & Procedures.
  • Presents, supports, and leads-by-example with a safety and quality-oriented attitude.
  • High energy, positive, and ability to work well in a team environment with a proven attention to detail.

Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree Technical/Electrical/Engineering (or work experience below) required.
  • 2+ years or more Control Room experience or renewable energy experience required.
  • Scheduling/progress control techniques.
  • Ability to work in high-pressure situations.
  • Oral and written communication skills.
  • High energy, positive, and ability to work well in a team environment with proven attention to detail.
  • Associate or bachelors degree preferred and direct experience in operations control centers.
  • Proficient knowledge of energy management and trending analysis software, SCADA, and Microsoft Office software.
  • Functional competencies include teamwork, communication, passion, continuous improvement, and attention to detail.
  • Domestic travel 5-15% required.
  • Valid Drivers License Not required.

Anticipated base salary range: $30.29 – $35.00

The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. This position is bonus eligible.
