About This Role
As the Battery Technician, your job duties will include, but are not limited to, troubleshooting solar system components for electrical errors, offering support to install teams, oversee electrical connection between solar system and the grid, communicate with different teams or homeowners for necessary repairs, and more. This position requires technical expertise in battery technology, electrical systems, and renewable energy.
Job Responsibilities
- Ensure that the work is performed in a professional and efficient manner to conform to existing national and local building codes
- Certified OSHA/OSHA10/30 preferred
- Work cooperatively with team members to complete residential solar installations.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot system components to resolve electrical issues
- Lead the installation of electrical systems that interconnect the solar array to the grid
- Ensure work performed by all electricians is of good workmanship and compliant with current NEC and local codes
- Work with branch team and homeowners to fulfill any necessary system repairs to support solar equipment installation
- Interface with branch leadership to ensure compliance with electrician / labor ratios and continuing education requirements
- Other duties as assigned
Candidate Requirements:
- 5 years experience with battery installation and repair
- Minimum of 2 years experience in Solar
- Must be a licensed electrician
- Must have working knowledge and experience replacing residential electrical services and distribution panels
- Working knowledge of the NEC (NATIONAL ELECTRIC CODE) required and local AHJ requirements
- Ability to effectively manage work to achieve required timelines
- Ability to understand or have experience in Electrical Panels including Sub Panels (MBD derate, conduit bending, relocating circuits, etc.)
- Strong interpersonal/human relations skills
- Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills
- Ability to read and interpret single line drawings
- Ability to complete work as scheduled
- Must be able to work at great heights including on rooftops, climbing ladders, and stairs (daily)
- Must be able to work in extreme environments (example: hot sun, cold, crawl spaces, attics etc.) (daily)
- Prolonged periods of repetitious duties including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods (daily)
- Lift up to 50lbs and climb a ladder to multiple story homes (daily)
- Ability to operate office equipment including computers and determine accuracy of work
- Ability to interact with co-workers and participate in meetings
- Must be able to successfully pass pre-employment screening requirements and have valid driver’s license while maintaining a clean driving record

Pay: $40.00 – $46.00 per hour
