M&A Associate / Senior Associate
Location:San Francisco, CA (Office requirement: 2 days a week)
Role Overview:
The M&A Associate / Senior Associate will support activities targeting new portfolio additions in utility-scale solar and storage, pursuing differentiated asset monetization strategies, and aggregating competitive intelligence. The Associate / Senior Associate will support the M&A team on project acquisitions and divestiture transactions, and will collaborate with internal and external subject matter experts on transactions. Additionally, the Associate will support analysis for strategic revenue growth for the organization.
Essential Functions:
– Strong financial modelling skills in Microsoft Excel
– Build and review financial models to understand key value drivers and run valuation analysis
– Support senior team in acquisition and divestiture transactions
– Source and interpret relevant data on markets, competitors, and transactions
– Maintain and develop systems for tracking opportunities and internal deliverables
– Prepare materials to support management and external interactions
– Participate in counterparty and management calls and visits
– Contribute to the development of the M&A and Origination team strategy
– Collaborate with internal and external subject matter experts such as legal, finance, engineering, and development
– Evaluate project acquisitions, divestitures, and strategic partnerships in the context of corporate goals and make recommendations to senior leadership team
– Support in core M&A process activity flow, including process letters, letters of intent, shared models, deal documentation, data room preparation, diligence logs, etc.
Qualifications:
– 1-4 years of related renewable energy experience
– Bachelor’s degree
