This position will work closely with our federal client(s) in the clean energy space.
This position is remote, with the expectation that candidates can work during United States Eastern Time Zone office hours. Both United States citizenship and residency are mandatory requirements.
This opportunity is posted as a Part-Time consulting / 1099 position with MSLLC and its federal clients.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct independent engineering / due diligence technical advisory reviews of clean energy carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) technologies, processes, and projects.
- Able to evaluate the expected or actual functionality and performance of technology, process, and project.
- Identify key gaps / needs as it relates to the functionality and performance of technology, process, and project.
- Identify project risks and risks mitigants of technology, process, and project.
- Articulate recommendations for improvement (when necessary).
- Work in teams and independently to provide engineering expertise on various clean energy technologies.
- Draft independent engineering / due diligence reports on evaluated technologies.
- Able to draft a data table and risk table (as part of an independent engineering / due diligence report or otherwise).
- Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication – communicating succinctly and clearly.
- Liaise with a variety of stakeholders when providing engineering expertise (e.g., clients, technology providers, other engineering disciplines).
Qualifications:
- This position is remote, with the expectation that candidates can work during United States Eastern Time Zone office hours. Both United States citizenship and residency are mandatory requirements.
- Due to the nature of the government contract requirements and/or clearances requirements, US citizenship is required.
- Ph.D., Eng.D., M.Sc., or advanced degree in geology, mechanical engineering, petroleum engineering, or related field is required.
- At least 15 years’ experience with oil and gas field activities such as well drilling, logging, coring, production/injection; CCUS; carbon capture sequestration (CCS); well completions for both conventional and unconventional fields.
- Ongoing knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements.
- Must be able to review front-end engineering designs and detailed engineering processes and Class VI well testing and monitoring plans and procedures.
- Ability to review related contracts, such as engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contracts, equipment and raw material supply agreements, O&M agreements, service agreements, and tolling agreements is a plus.
- Experience providing independent engineering, technical advisory, or due diligence.
- Subject Matter Expertise in one of the following areas: Geology/Geophysics, Modeling, Drilling/Well Completions Engineering, Petroleum Engineering.
- A licensed professional engineer (P.E.) is a plus.
- Ability to manage projects is preferred.
