The Role:

The Engineering Technician position provides direct technical support to the engineering team. This role will primarily involve soldering, assemblies, and wire harness for active engineering R&D products and initiatives. Will require working closely with project managers, other engineering technicians, and with design engineers. Other related tasking as determined by team and project leads will be expected.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support to the engineering team during the design and manufacturing process
  • Provide fabrication/assembly support for engineering test fixtures, setups, prototype builds
  • Provide soldering support for printed circuit boards and other electrical components.
  • Be able to read and follow wire diagrams to effectively create wire harnesses.
  • Assist in implementing improvements in production, efficiency, and quality
  • Provide documentation and process support
  • Conduct process evaluations and identify process improvement opportunities, communicating those opportunities to the appropriate teams
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing and technical problems to identify root causes
  • Calibrate equipment
  • Perform work in a safe manner and in accordance with established operating procedures and practices
  • Other duties and responsibilities within the scope of role as needed or assigned.

Requirements:

  • Associate degree in Engineering or related discipline or related technical certification is highly preferred
  • Internship or other hands-on manufacturing experience preferred
  • Three or more years of experience as an Engineering Technician in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Proficiency in soldering; IPC-J-STD-001 highly preferred.
  • Experience create wiring harnesses, high voltage/low voltage cable – crimping/cutting cable tools
  • Experience in using microsoft apps such as excel, word, powerpoint
  • Experience or ability to use electrical measuring equipment

Salary: $27.30 – $33.00
