Job Title: Energy Project Manager

Location: Charlotte, Asheville, Raleigh

Job Summary: LVI is rapidly expanding our presence in the energy sector and seeking a self-driven individual with a solid understanding of the energy market to support business development and project management. Our services encompass Energy Management, Decarbonization, Fossil Fuels, and Renewable Energy.

Position Overview: The selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring the successful completion of assigned projects, including scope, schedule, and budget management.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical & Sales Leadership:

  • Actively engage in sales and business development to grow our presence in the energy market.
  • Manage and document sales efforts using our client management system.
  • Develop expertise in multiple functional areas and specialize technically in one or more.
  • Stay updated on technical practices and general business practices.
  • Serve as a technical advisor, assisting and training team members.
  • Foster the development of subject matter experts within the team.

Project/Program Management:

  • Develop and align client and project plans with market objectives.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Select and manage project teams for maximum efficiency and profitability.
  • Conduct meetings, work sessions, public hearings, and attend trade shows.
  • Prepare change orders and contract addenda.
  • Coordinate with other practices and markets to enhance efficiency and customer service.
  • Oversee the project billing process and ensure collection of fees.

Staff Management:

  • Supervise, develop, and mentor direct reports.
  • Anticipate and address knowledge and skill needs to ensure proper staffing.
  • Coordinate internal work activities to provide seamless client service.
  • Set performance standards and coach team members to achieve high performance.
  • Hold direct reports accountable for meeting team goals.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an ABET accredited engineering program or equivalent training and experience.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer.
  • Over 10 years of experience in the energy field or related projects.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in energy-related design and/or field work.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification.
  • Experience working with local county and state clients.
  • Experience with national and regional energy clients and ESCOs.
  • Proven track record in project management and business development.
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary project teams.
