Director of Development

Opportunity to develop dual use projects. Community Solar & BESS projects. Ethical and purpose driven business. My client is a leading developer of Solar and BESS projects in the US and they are looking for a Director of Development to join their development team. My client has a long track record of developing several gigawatts of solar and battery storage projects throughout the United States and are looking to expand their projects in Massachusetts.

What you’ll be doing?

• Develop solar projects throughout the region into financing and construction phase.
• Negotiate land lease agreements with landowners throughout the state.
• Manage external consultants throughout the planning and design process.
• Liaise with internal teams such as grid, legal, offtake, engineering and construction.
• Be responsible for project budgets and schedules.
• Represent the company at town hearings.

What experience you’ll need to apply?

• 5 years experience with developing community/and or utility scale solar projects.
• Knowledge of the development process through Massachusetts,
• Experience in dealing and negotiating with landowners for renewable energy projects
• Excellent project management skills
• Bachelors degree in a relevant field (engineering or real estate).
