Job Summary

Reporting to the Program Support Manager, the NERC Specialist is responsible for ensuring compliance with NERC CIP and other regulations related to physical security systems and processes. The position is also responsible to plan, organize and present NERC/CIP and other compliance information to all audience levels including regulatory auditors. The incumbent will be responsible for NERC compliance support for Corporate Security. The individual will provide SME guidance and ensure procedures for performing systems management, configuration management, monitoring, response, and support functions are maintained for NERC compliance. The position represents Corporate Security with internal business units, management, and external agencies including law enforcement as well as representing the department on cross functional Committees. The position will also provide compliance support for the electronic security systems at PSEGLI.

Job Responsibilities

  • Implement and develop policies and procedures to ensure compliance with NERC CIP and other regulations primarily related to physical security systems and processes including conducting hardware and software audits of all supported systems.
  • Plan, organize and present NERC/CIP and other compliance information to all audience levels including regulatory auditors and internal NERC compliance reviews.
  • Investigate compliance issues and prepare regulatory reporting documents. Manage and monitor remediation activities.
  • Review processes and supporting documentation to assure compliance with NERC Critical Infrastructure Protection standards, and FERC programs.
  • Ensure FTE and contractor companies provide appropriate personnel and staffing that are capable of performing security systems management, configuration management, monitoring, response, and support functions, in a manner that is consistent with NERC procedures.
  • Represent Corporate Security with internal business units, management, and external agencies as needed. Also represent the department on cross functional Committees.
  • Participate in NERC audits, tabletop or live exercises, and actual events to ensure compliance.

Job Specific Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Computer Science, Criminal Justice or other related compliance field with a minimum of 6 years of experience providing NERC compliance support.
  • In lieu of a degree 8 years of experience in compliance supporting a security program in a NERC or other regulatory environment.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Experience obtaining information and writing technical assessment reports.
  • Experience developing and maintaining policies and procedures.
  • Must demonstrate flexibility to work extended and unusual hours involving ever-changing situations.
  • Demonstrated professional communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Must possess and maintain a valid US drivers license with a safe and satisfactory driving history.

Desired

  • Working knowledge of AMAG and/or other electronic security systems.
  • IT infrastructure and networking experience.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of Physical Security requirements.
  • Previous experience working with an Electric Utility organization.
