Responsibilities
- Receiving, handling, issuing, maintaining, and inventorying all items of stock and material.
- Filling in for the Messenger-Material-Deliverers, transporting and delivering inter-company mail and materials on an assigned basis.
- Requires the ability to learn SAP processes and procedures.
- Must work effectively and constructively with other department members, resource departments, and clients.
- Receive and ship stock items and materials with minimum supervision.
- Prepare and maintain all records involved in the receipt, inventorying, transfer and shipment of materials and supplies.
- Handle, transport and store all types of materials, equipment, and supplies, including the operation of mechanical equipment to perform such work.
- To be thoroughly familiar with commonly stocked items for all departments and their location in storage and to issue, transfer and ship these items.
- To be thoroughly familiar with all standard parts and materials lists used by the Company and to have a working knowledge of all available substitutes.
- To properly handle, transport and store all types of materials and be capable of operating mechanical equipment for such work, as required.
- To have a good knowledge of the inventory control programs and to requisition or report the need of replacements or the presence of surpluses, as required.
- Maintain a good driving record and a valid Maine motor vehicle driver’s license.
- Keep Company vehicle properly maintained and cleaned.
- Change tires and install tire chains on assigned vehicles as needed.
- Operate assigned vehicle and transport mail and materials on an established schedule.
- Be familiar with all district and other service area locations.
- Responsible for the sorting and prompt delivery of mail and materials to destinations along the route and to pickup and deliver special scheduled mail as directed.
- Perform general housekeeping duties as needed.
- Have a thorough knowledge of the Company’s operating standards, policies, and directives pertaining to the assignments.
- Have a thorough knowledge of the safety instructions affecting the work and to perform the work accordingly.
- Performs other duties as assigned
