Piper Maddox has been engaged by a market leading CleanTech investment firm to find it’s portfolio companies a top tier board member.

The investment firm is dedicated to providing capital and expertise to teams developing sustainable infrastructure projects in clean fuels and industrial decarbonization.

The portfolio company, using state-of-the-art pyrolysis technology, converts biomass into clean, high-quality products. These products are well suited for industries including agriculture and water remediation. They have built and are commissioning their first large-scale project and will pursue aggressive growth in the coming months, increasing operations at the first plant and looking to develop a second plant.

This is a part-time role, meeting once quarterly on average,

KEY SKILLS DESIRED:

• Extensive experience in designing and scaling processing facilities, ideally in biochar or related industries such as oil & gas, or other clean processing technologies.
• Proven track record of commercial success and project management in large-scale operations.
• Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide high-level guidance and oversight.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, capable of advising and collaborating with senior management and stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to contribute to a company in the growth phase, with a focus on achieving aggressive expansion targets.
• Knowledge of sustainable and clean technology industries, with a passion for environmental impact and sustainability.
• Experience with fundraising, investor relations, and navigating financing events.
• Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements in the biochar or related industries.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Participate in quarterly board meetings, offering insights and making decisions on key business matters.
• Provide strategic direction and oversight to ensure the company meets its growth and development goals.
• Advise on scaling operations, improving efficiencies, and optimizing production processes.
• Leverage industry knowledge to provide guidance on technology adoption and innovation.
• Identify and mitigate risks that could impact the company’s growth and operational success.
• Monitor the company’s performance against agreed-upon goals and objectives.
• Provide constructive feedback and hold management accountable for results.
