Your Role
Join Atlas Copco Comptec LLC as an Assistant Project Manager where you will support the project team with project inspections and overall commercial performance of assigned projects. This includes on-time delivery, Pre-Post Performance, and Cash Flow follow-up. You will also support the point of Customer Contact for commercial items, including negotiation of change orders, back charge claims and project schedule notifications. As part of the Project Management group, you will report to the Internal Contract Manager and work with Project Mangers, customers, manufacturing groups, and engineering groups. This is an on-site position located in Voorheesville, NY.
- You will plan, prepare, and support customer inspections in the building and coordinate at the supplier location.
- You will be involved in all commercial aspects of assigned projects from kickoff until shipment, supporting all internal processing.
- You will work with all internal departments to meet the customer’s needs.
- You will communicate customer needs to the project team and the organization.
- You will support the project team in maintaining cost control of orders which includes:
- Monitor budget costs versus actual costs.
- Coordinate customer management of financial claims.
- Review and approval of vendor final invoices for payment.
- You will report monthly the team projects with a summary of the schedule, list of documents, material status, and technical highlights.
- You will maintain accurate and accessible project records that confirm to Atlas Copco’s procedures.
- You will monitor QN/QE performance of projects.
- You will coordinate with finance on the release of invoices for progress and final billing. Working with the customer contact for collections and billing issues.
To succeed, you will need
- You hold a bachelor’s degree and have 5 or more years of experience in successful management of projects.
- You have Enterprise Resource Planning system experience.
- You have a professional approach and effective communication skills.
- You have customer service experience.
You may require occasional additional hours outside normal office hours and will require travel on occasion to support customer meetings.
