Reporting to the Senior Operations Manager, the Assistant Operations Manager (AOM) is to perform the efficient and safe completion of all operation duties and responsibilities for the Photovoltaic (PV) system. Required to be physically present at site Monday-Friday for 8 hours per day at minimum.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all Operations and Maintenance activities in line with Longroad standards for generating facility to include but not limited to; Substation & HV work, collection system equipment, balance of plant activities, PV array, Battery segments and associated equipment.
  • Interact with local utilities, regulatory agencies, local government/community and landowners.
  • Work with Asset Management to ensure the site is operated in line with the approved budget. This includes developing annual budgets.
  • Manage site contracts and warranties to the standards and interests of Longroad.
  • Ensures compliance with all local, state and federal regulations in all concerns, including but not limited to; environmental, NERC/FERC, local laws and regulations.
  • Maintain compliance with all EHS plans and regulatory standards to ensure a strong on-site safety culture including the administration, application and monitoring of safety programs. This includes the safety requirement for all contractors, subcontractors, owners personnel and
    any other visitors.
  • Required to be physically present at site Monday-Friday for 8 hours per day at minimum to oversee maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, balance of plant and operational activities on fixed and single axis solar tracking systems, collection lines, combiner boxes and panels.
  • Perform work in the field as required to maintain the project in line with standards and requirements. This includes manual labor to complete tasks when required.
  • Working knowledge of monitoring systems SCADA and DAS.
  • Manage and direct team of field staff.
  • Responsible for site inventory accountability and replenishment.
  • Demonstrate work planning skills, activity scheduling and follow up to assure work compliance.
  • Demonstrate procedural compliance in all site operation and maintenance activities by following established procedures. In the event that a procedure does not exist, work to draft procedure.
  • Ensure site equipment is kept at the highest possible standard maximizing availability, reliability, efficiency, and profitability.
  • Coordinate Switching and Curtailments with the Remote Operations Center.
  • Effectively communicate with all members of the team and/or subcontractors as required.
  • Conduct oneself in a professional manner to ensure adherence to all Longroad policies and procedures are adhered to.
  • Report all scheduled and unscheduled work performed.
  • Maintain all onsite records and documentation in an accurate and up to date manner, including but not limited to records for maintenance and site permit compliance.
  • Required to be on call as deemed necessary.
  • Willing to work a 60 hour per week + if required including nights for certain maintenance activities.
  • Travel as needed.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned by Management

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3 years of power generation experience.
  • 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • Budget / Project Management experience.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Contract execution experience.
  • Government regulation compliance experience.
  • Organized, leadership skills.
  • Proficient computer and software skills, with an emphasis on MS Excel.
  • Ability to perform essential physical functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation; this includes walking long distances in inclement weather and moving equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, sometimes overhead.
  • Valid drivers license.
  • 24/7 on-call availability.

Desired/Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of NERC standards.
  • 3 years of experience in related fields preferred such as electrical, renewables, power or utilities.
  • Competent in executing and directing substation switching.
  • Competent in inspecting MV / HV Electrical Equipment.

SALARY:

The salary range for this position is $ 90,000 to $105,000.00 annually. In addition to base salary, this role participates in a competitive project-based bonus program. This position offers health, vision/dental insurance, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) plan, accrued paid time off, life insurance and disability coverage.
